Instrumental music has the power to tinker with your emotions. Even if you do not have words being sung, it does not prevent a message from being transmitted. You can create the lyrics yourself in your heart. However, there are songs with inspirational lyrics that make us want to click the “repeat” button over and over again.
I made a list of verses and stanzas here that I really like. Some have a more poetic appeal; others go straight to the point. This is the Part II, to read Part I, click here.

As already said in the previous post on this topic, songwriting is one of my favorite areas of study in Music, and there are several ways of developing in this area of knowledge. One of them is to analyze the construction of the verses of songs in OTHER LANGUAGES. Just as in the business world it is imperative that the entrepreneur analyzes the competition and try to understand why a certain company is successful or not, so it is in the music industry.
Check out my list below and share with us which verses you enjoy. The list is numbered with the name of the artist who interprets the song. In parentheses you will find the lyricists names. I am not sure if these lyricists wrote the music as well.
Note: I did not write the name of the songs, because I want you to guess it ;)
If you write your own songs, take inspiration from these beautiful and creative verses:
1. Bob Dylan
Well I try my best
To be just like I am
But everybody wants you
To be just like them
They sing while they slave and just get bored

2. Birdy & Rhodes (David Rhodes / Jasmine Van Den Bogaerde)
I don’t know why, I don’t know why
We need to break so hard
I don’t know why we break so hard
But if we’re strong enough
To let it in, in, in
We strong enough
To let it go, oho, oho
Let it all go, let it all go
Let it all out now

3. OneRepublic (Ryan Tedder)
The old, but I’m not that old
Young, but I’m not that bold
And I don’t think the world is sold
I’m just doing what we’re told
I feel something so right
Doing the wrong thing
I feel something so wrong
But doing the right thing
I could lie, could lie, could lie
Everything that kills me makes me feel alive

4. Adele (Adele Adkins / Daniel Wilson)
Nothing compares
No worries or cares
Regrets and mistakes
They are memories made
Who would have known
How bittersweet this would taste?

5. Taylor Swift (Taylor Swift / Max Martin / Johan Shellback)
You go talk to your friends
Talk to my friends
Talk to me
But we are never ever
Ever, ever
Getting back together
Like, ever

6. U2 (Adam Clayton / Dave Evans / Larry Mullen / Paul Hewson)
I was there when they crucified my Lord
I held the scabbard when the soldier drew his sword
I threw the dice when they pierced his side
But I’ve seen love conquer the great divide

7. OneRepublic (Brent Michael Kutzle / Jacob Kasher Hindlin / Noel Patrick Zancanella / Ryan B. Tedder / Zachary Skelton)
Maybe I should try to find the old me
Take me to the places and the people that know me
Tryin’ to disconnect, thinking maybe you could show me
If there’s so many people here, then why am I so lonely?
Can I get a connection?

8. Lauren Daigle (Jason Ingram / Lauren Daigle / Paul Mabury)
Where are You now
When darkness seems to win?
Where are You now
When the world is crumbling?
Oh I hear You say
Look up child, ay
Where are You now
When all I feel is doubt?
Oh, where are You now
When I can’t figure it out?
9. John Legend (John Stephens / Tobias Gad)
‘Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I’ll give my all to you
You’re my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I’m winning
‘Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh oh

10. OneRepublic (Ryan Tedder / Noel Zancanella)
Don’t walk away
Don’t roll your eyes
They say love is pain
Well, darling
Let’s hurt tonight

11. Matthew West
Well, I don’t know about you
But I’m sick and tired of life with no desire
I don’t want a flame, I want a fire and
I wanna be the one who stands up and says
“I’m gonna do something”
If not us, then who
If not me and you
